HOSPITAL INFECTION CONTROL AND PREVENTION (HICP) UNIT has been re-constituted in 2014. The Medical superintendent, Dr J Balachander and HOD, Microbiology Dr BN Harish took a lead role in reforming HICC. Dr Apurba Sankar Sastry faculty from Department of Microbiology was appointed as infection control officer. Six infection control nurses had been appointed at the beginning, which was raised to 10 subsequently. One data entry officer was also appointed later.

HOSPITAL INFECTION CONTROL AND PREVENTION (HICP) of JIPMER provides a forum for multidisciplinary input and cooperation and information sharing. The members are as follows
